This has been a significant week for the Nashville community working in with or experiencing homelessness, especially all of the actively participating Continuum of Care members!
1. The Metro ordinance BL2018-1199 has been filed and is up for introduction and first reading on June 5. We will post here again when we know when the bill will be in committee and which committees it may be assigned to. If the ordinance passes, then the Metropolitan Homelessness Commission would be replaced by the CoC governance board which would officially be called the Nashville-Davidson County Continuum of Care Homelessness Planning Council. That is anticipated in July.
2. The Metro Homelessness Commission held its potentially last meeting yesterday, Friday, June 1, 2018. The next meeting that is tentatively scheduled would be for the new Homelessness Planning Council on July 18, 8:30-11:30 am at Randee Rogers Training Center, 1419 Rosa L. Parks Blvd.
3. The MHC/CoC Governance Workgroup decided at its May-22 meeting that its potentially last meeting will be held on June 19, at 9:30-11:30 am at Metro Social Services. At their May meeting, they approved the notes of the April meeting; and started outlining a potential agenda for the possible first Homelessness Planning Council meeting in July. They will continue that discussion on June 19.
