Feb. 5: Next Workgroup Meeting

The MHC/CoC Governance Workgroup met on Jan. 9 and reviewed where the group and the community is in the governance discussion. (Read the January-9 meeting notes online).

Sean Muldoon, presented the following additions at the CoC Governance Board meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 10, as and update of the work group conversations:

The CoC/MHC Work Group has assumed and begun the process of broadly defining the transition plan to include length of transition and board membership.

a. The new governance body would be named the Inaugural Planning Council, with later transition to Planning Council.

b. It would be comprised of the current CoC and MHC governance bodies’ members

c. Discussions would be held in both CoC and MHC about current succession plans and with deference to the current CoC Charter. A final succession plan would be adopted and ratified in an updated Charter to reflect succession timing for the newly established IPC.

d. As “C” is being processed, there would be discussions with individual members of CoC and MHC boards to begin “actual determination” of succession plan by position for the new ICPC.

e. The IPC focus will be:

· Establishing and implementing a process for determination of the Planning Council Management entity.

· Establish and implementing a “Strategic Plan” for the community.

· Continue efforts to build and enhance the Planning Council’s Committee structures

· Maintain essential CoC functions

· Continue, as appropriate, development, revision and/or updating of Charter and By-Laws.

· Serve as Community Ambassadors.
