Vote of Intent

The Metropolitan Homelessness Commission held its monthly meeting on Feb. 2. The Commission voted to support the continuation of the work to move the community toward a unified governance structure to address homelessness in Nashville. With this vote, the Commission approves the development of a new ordinance that essentially would dissolve the Commission and create a new Planning Council instead. The ordinance would be aligned with a new Continuum of Care governance charter.

The next step is now for the Continuum of Care membership to endorse the current process. The "vote of intent" to continue the work to form a Planning Council is scheduled for Thursday, Feb. 15, at the CoC membership meeting. That meeting will start at 10 am at the Nashville Rescue Mission, 639 Lafayette St.
